Autumn is for Ambling Autumn brings its own ambience: mellow days and darker evenings. The walkers come into their own now, perfect weather to eat up those miles. The children have returned to school: now is the time for the grown ups. Gather a few friends and enjoy a visit together - there is still time for you all to have a cream tea to boost those calories. Overbecks, our National Trust House/ Museum with its sub tropical garden, is the place to see some unusual specimens. The view from there is truly wonderful. It's a fair walk from town for Youth Hostal Association visitors, but well worthwhile. The Royal National Lifeboat Institute museum and shop is a good place to while away some time - seeing those old lifeboat models is a must. The many restaurants will welcome and tempt you to sample their delicacies. Many of them use local produce when available, the locally caught fish and shellfish are a real gourmet delight - go on, be tempted!! |
